Everyone's favourite local soul songstress, Eden Kelly, lead singer and writer for The Kelly Collab teams up with Brighton drum and bass producer Tengu for this banger of a track, delving into the subject of no longer allowing oneself to be in the passenger seat - take that steering wheel and choose your own path, girl! This is out of Kelly's comfort zone, in that she's never sung on a drum and bass track before. If you attended the Worthing Festival you may have seen Kelly performing with her band and you'll know that their style differs greatly from this, but they did also manage to pull off an acoustic version of Passenger Drive which was epic, considering that Dylan was on the cajon! The change in vibe is a welcome distraction from the norm as this team have created something pretty magical - or at least I think so. I'm a fan of tracks that have a good arrangement, build up and releases, great vocals, great production - and this song has it all. This one will be staying on my playlist for a while yet.
