After a top ten for his Christmas single A Cold December, local legend Chris Simmons returns with this epic anthem, Navigators. Oozing with positivity and enthusiasm, Navigators is all about choosing your own path - making good things happen by our words and actions. Primarily guitar driven with some excellently placed lead licks, the arrangement is everything you would expect of a full band sound, complete with shaker on the choruses (essential percussive high frequencies that lift a mix). The instrumentation ebbs and flows throughout the song, giving it some great dynamic shifts between sections - especially where the chorus kicks in with additional layers of vocals and atmospheric guitar. With Navigators already being picked up by a number of radio stations, is it finally time for Simmons to shine? It's been a long time coming, and I for one am an extremely proud friend.
