Julia Traser - hi You

Immediately upon pressing play, this track makes me smile. It's not necessarily a happy song; the lyrical content explores a lost love - the singer reminiscing about a previous relationship and the red flags that came with it. In my own personal experience, I wouldn't want to waste such a pretty song on someone who hasn't even bothered to apologise for wrongdoing, but I'm glad that Traser has put this out there. It's something many of us can relate to; and if you can't, then you're one of the lucky ones. It's the production and arrangement that warms me, with a widely-spread panned mix that makes it possible to close my eyes, pick out every instrument and where they are in the room. Traser's voice sits beautifully central, double tracked at times for impact and just the right amount of reverb. A well written song, well played and well produced.
