Alina - Loverboy leave

The South coast's favourite pink pop princess is back with another catchy earworm, addressing the issue of people clearly being in a relationship but holding back on making anything official. 'I know he's not your type, but I see that you're falling, and that's alright' - what are you waiting for, girl? No point in hiding those feelings if they're true! Starting with a Chic-esque disco guitar riff, Loverboy leave brings the listener straight into the foot tapping zone and takes you on a journey. There is something I love so much about songs that have proper arrangements - this is where the artist and producer have done a great job at keeping the listener engaged by bringing instruments in and out of the mix so you have tension and release throughout. The highlight for me would be the middle 8, where the instrumentation strips right back and Alina says 'what are you waiting for?' in multiple languages (at least I think that's what she's saying?!) then it all comes back in, the chorus hitting harder than previously. Catchy, well produced and a great listen - thanks, Alina!
