I could tell you all about where Vince Freeman comes from; his past songwriting credits and performances, his appearance on The Voice - but really I know that's not what I'm usually interested in, so I won't bore you with those details. We want nitty-gritty, raw and real, right? Well here's a healthy dose of reality in a song. On first listen you might not understand what this song is about until the line that stands out, 'will my kids remember me'. Oof! If that's not a punch in the gut, then I don't know what is. Unluckiest Man Alive is a slightly tongue-in-cheek reference (you have to take it this way, because honestly I believe it to be quite the opposite) to Freeman's multiple medical issues - a spinal condition being a long term issue that has now resolved following multiple surgeries, followed by pneumonia that caused heart failure after his 2024 album release and tour.
